Meet Trustee Matthew Dent

Matthew relocated to Nevada in 2007 after earning a B.S. in Construction Management from California State University, Chico.   A few years later, Matthew completed an M.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno.  Matthew and his wife, Dr. Tara Madden-Dent moved to Incline Village in 2009

With more than 20 years of hospitality, customer service, and project management experience, his exclusive blend of professional skills are ideal for a Trustee.  Matthew has served on a variety of executive teams overseeing projects in California and Nevada where he played a key role or oversaw $600 million in infrastructure, residential, and commercial projects. He is currently working in the residential construction and has served as Trustee since being appointed on September 16, 2015. In 2016, Matthew ran for the seat he was appointed to and was elected on November 8, 2016 to a 4 year term.

In his first 5 years serving as Trustee, Matthew has fought for fiscal transparency, improved the capital reporting, increased communication, better planning and has been a voice for all folks in Crystal Bay and Incline Village. The community can entrust in him to represent their concerns, issues and ideas while upholding board policy, and the District accountable. He currently serves on several committees: Nevada League of Cities, Chair of the Audit Committee, Effluent Pipeline and Retention Pond Committee, and Utility Rates and Reserve Committee.

In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending his downtime with Tara and son Harvey, hanging out with friends, and using the IVGID amenities, and enjoying the Tahoe life.
