Matthew moved to Nevada in 2007 after earning a B.S. in Construction Management from California State University, Chico.  He began his career in project management as an executive member of the project team that constructed the I-580 corridor from Reno to Carson City,  A couple years later, Matthew completed his M.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno and move to Incline Village with his wife, Tara Madden-Dent.

With more than 20 years of hospitality, customer service, and project management experience, his exclusive blend of professional skills make him the ideal candidate for the Trustee position.  Matthew has served on a variety of executive teams overseeing projects in California and Nevada totaling more than $500 million. He is currently president of a real estate redevelopment company, the EVP of global development for a higher education company, and is currently serving as IVGID Trustee since September 16, 2015.

When appointed to Trustee the Board asked, “Why do you want to do this?” Matthew's response, “I want to serve my community, I can add value, and  I think it will be FUN!”  Of course the role requires significant amounts of time and effort but he still maintains, "it is fun."  Voters can entrust in him to represent their concerns and ideas, to uphold board policy, and to create early and transparent communication between all community stakeholders. Having a keen understanding of the challenges our community faces, Matthew's priorities focus on financial transparency, communication, and planning.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys volunteering for several local and national organizations, reading, boating, skiing, golfing, and playing chess with Tara.  If you have questions or concerns please send Matthew an email at
