Hello, I am Matthew Dent!
Welcome to my blog! I started this blog in August 2009 as a platform for posting my assignments for my University of Nevada, Reno MBA course. The course is over and now I am pursuing my personal brand and more importantly the value I have to offer.
So who am I? My friends and family describe me with words such as: Genuine, Dynamic, Ambitious, Trustworthy, Traditional, and Sarcastic. I have been blessed to have been surrounded by the most encouraging and loyal friends and family. I would describe myself as: Caring, Motivated, Determined, Energetic, & Visionary.
I love life and enjoy making life happen! I do what can to help others see the glass as half full and try to laugh as much as possible. I work hard, put a lot on my plate so I can stay focused on where I am going. I like to control what I can and try to let go of everything else. I think the hardest part is accepting the fact that we don’t have control. I am a firm believer in working hard and playing harder. You must take the time to do what it is that helps you relax and recharge so you can operate at peak performance. I recharge by spending time in San Jose del Cabo, life slows down, I can let go, and get ready for the next round.
When it comes to socializing I enjoy building relationships and I surround myself with optimistic realists. From a young age I have been influenced by some successful individuals who taught me to think big and to never stopping growing. I believe success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.
I have always been interested in leadership, recently started writing about my take on how leaders should lead. I enjoy learning and passing on the knowledge I learn to others. I like to share posts and quotes with others which focus around my purpose. You probably are asking yourself, “What do I have to offer?” I am not claiming to be an expert. My knowledge on this topic is limited, however, I am willing learn and will be documenting my encounters along the way. So, please feel free to comment, critique, and challenge my thoughts and I look forward to hearing from you!
I look forward to being held accountable for staying on message and engaging in conversation.
Sincerely,

Matthew Dent

Hi Matt
Saw your twitter request, looked up your web site and read your introduction of yourself. I love it! I write and speak on the critical importance of fundamental leadership values and attributes and you put yours right up front and center. Values are powerful and motivational as well.
Good luck on your leadership journey. I have a blog too, you might like it http://www.liftoffleadership.com Let’s Talk Leadership.

Hi Matt, thanks for following me on Twitter. I appreciate genuine relationships (not just collecting followers), so I do take time as I can to see who follows me and learn why. I write about organizations, culture, people, and leadership. I’ve built my consulting business around my passion “people” and “change” (www.smartchangesolutions.com)
Wish you the best!!
